Have you ever wanted to explore the magical world of watercolors? Join us at HOSTE to embark on a journey of creativity and expression. This course is designed for beginners who are eager to learn the basics of watercolor techniques, color mixing, and brush use - and experienced painters who want to have fun.
In this hands-on workshop, you will:
Learn essential watercolor techniques such as wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry.
Experiment with color mixing to create vibrant hues.
Explore different brush strokes and their effects.
Be guided through a small project to take home
No prior experience is necessary — just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to explore! Whether you're looking to unwind with a new hobby or want to develop your artistic skills, this class will inspire and guide you through the fundamentals of watercolor painting.
Each student will receive several sheets of watercolor paper, one brush, a reusable palate with 6 colors, spray bottle, water container, permanent marker and a page of resources.
Our teacher: Gail has been painting with watercolors exclusively for 10 years. She regularly creates commissioned paintings of local parks, flowers and pets. She teaches small private classes in her home and when not painting she’s teaching Reformer Pilates or consulting in the field of Occupational Therapy.
Class will be held at Hoste, 737 E. McMillan, on Sunday, August 18 from 10am - noon. Light snacks and drinks will be provided. Tickets are non refundable.
